At The Nest Early Learning Program, we strive to provide a nurturing environment that fosters creativity and curiosity. Our mission is to empower young learners to explore the natural world through play!

Erin Sherman brings over 20 years of experience and a genuine enthusiasm for learning to her role as an educator at The Nest. Her passion lies in working with children and families both inside and outside the classroom. Inspired by her love for homesteading and nature, Erin creates a magical learning environment that ignites imaginations. She designs engaging educational experiences that foster curiosity, exploration, and self-expression. As a mother of three, she has homeschooled her children for several years and has taught students from Pre-K to grade 6 in both private and public schools. With a background in family coaching, American Sign Language, and children's yoga, Erin's unique skill set allows her to employ diverse teaching methods that accommodate various learning styles. She is dedicated to creating a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere where children can feel safe to express themselves and explore new ideas. Through hands-on and experiential learning, Erin strives to connect her students with the world around them, instilling a lifelong love of learning in each child she meets.

Our assistant Grace Childress is an early childhood educator currently pursuing her Master’s in Elementary Education at Rhode Island College. Grace is dedicated to helping children grow academically, socially, and emotionally, and is passionate about creating a positive and engaging experience for every child in her care.

Our educators are highly qualified and experienced in early childhood education. They are trained through DHS of RI and committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children to learn and grow.
Our environment is designed with children in mind, creating a warm and inviting home environment for learning and exploration. We are inspired by the philosophies of Waldorf and Montessori education, fostering creativity and independent thinking in every activity. Children have the opportunity to engage with nature through hands-on farming and gardening experiences, allowing them to connect with the earth and understand the joy of nurturing living things. Our spaces are purposefully curated and well-kept, cultivating a comforting atmosphere where children can freely explore, create, and grow together.
